DESIGN VISION & PHILOSOPHY

To empower people through user-centric, & empathy-driven product design, by utilizing the latest economically viable technologies.

STORY

My journey in product design began before the term 'UX' became commonly used. During my time in feature films, along with my regular visual effects work, I also created small tools in Python to streamline workflow which led me to design specialized web-based tools and later transition to mobile app design during the rise of mobile apps in India.

I've designed products for various industries like healthcare, high-sea metal trade, education, and banking. My background in photography enhanced my observation skills, helping me understand user behaviors and incorporate them into my designs.

In 2017, I joined Ather Energy, focusing on the smart touchscreen dashboard for the 450/450X product line. This innovative dashboard included features like navigation and document storage for two-wheelers, complemented by a companion mobile app to enhance the commuting experience.

During my free time, I explored blockchain-based logistics solutions and developed learning tools for neuro-diverse individuals.

My most recent six-year tenure was at Ather Energy, Bangalore where we built India’s first and best smart electric two-wheelers.
Many features, now commonplace, were originally conceived by one of the most creative and fun design & product teams in the industry. I built and managed the core digital product design team here.  We innovated numerous features and built unique experiences for EV users in India.
Our design process has been centred around our customers, with whom we closely studied, conducted countless rounds of testing and iterated at every feedback cycle to meticulously craft the solutions. It was an incredibly humbling experience to witness and be an integral part of a concept becoming a reality and changing the entire landscape of EV perception in India.

Beyond digital experiences, I solely took care of designing audio experiences for the vehicles. Sounds play a crucial role in auditory responses and contribute significantly to defining a product's personality.

Ather 450X Android Dashboards
SENIOR UX MANAGER & LEAD
First of its kind touch-screen Android dashboard for Ather EV scooters that acts as its brain and interface between rider and machine. It provides all essential vehicle functions and smart features like navigation, tyre pressure, and documents.

Ather app is a companion app for 450/450X scooter owner. It provides range, charging status, nearby charging stations, smart navigation with charging suggestion, location tracking & even theft & tow alerts. Along with multiple connected features, it also provides support and service.

Ather 450X Speaker Casing
Worked with hardware team to improve sound experience for the scooters. I created multiple 3D printed hardware prototypes of the speaker casing to maximize sound quality. It was one of my favorite projects at Ather that pushed the care for experience beyond digital interfaces.

SCRAP METAL TRADING PLATFORM

CONCEPT / PRODUCT DESIGN / STRATEGY / CLIENT BACKEND
Metalmann is an international scrap metal trading company headquartered in Bengaluru that boldly embraced digital transformation by transitioning to a mobile app in 2015. As a product strategist, I had the privilege of conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the development of this trading platform and its associated backend management console. This complex and challenging project was a major milestone in my product design journey, and Metalmann remains one of my favorite clients.
CommonFloor Edge
CommonFloor is a well-known name in real-estate business in India. I designed broker app for them. This projected led us to an extensive research on real estate agents.
